Halle Berry Reveals A Shocking New Look On The Set Of Her New Film
Sad news to pass along to baseball fans today … the iconic Detroit Tigers manager George Lee Sparky Anderson passed away today in his home in Thousand Oaks, CA at the age of 76. Yesterday his family revealed that Sparky was receiving hospice care due to his advancing dementia and, very sadly, he died today. It’s impossible to convey how important Sparky Anderson is to Detroit and baseball fans as a whole. We are all poorer for his loss today:
Sparky Anderson, the all-time leader among Tigers managers in victories, visibility and inimitable quotations, died today at his home in Thousand Oaks, Calif. He was 76. Anderson’s death came one day after the family announced that he was receiving hospice care at his home because of complications from dementia. The family said that at Anderson’s request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. Anderson managed the Tigers from the middle of the 1979 season through 1995. His 17 seasons are most in club history. The runner-up is Hughie Jennings, who managed Ty Cobb’s Tigers for 14 seasons in the first part of the 20th Century. Anderson beat Jennings’ record for most victories by a Tigers manager by 200 (1,331-1,131). Throughout his years near or at the top of baseball through his 2000 election to the Hall of Fame, Anderson rejected the airs of celebrity, no matter how prominent he became. He forever seemed as happy to see people he knew — and didn’t know — as they did to see him. On trips to New York, he didn’t eat breakfast at the Tigers’ fancy hotel. He’d go across the street to Howard Johnson, where he would address his waiter by name as a friend. In countless such gestures, he succeeded in a mission he once imparted to his Hall of Fame catcher in Cincinnati, Johnny Bench: “As long as you remember where you are from, you will always know where you are going.”
Sparky Anderson is synonymous with Detroit baseball and I know his death is being felt by a lot of people back home. I’m really bummed that his family does not want to memorialize him … ‘cuz I know there are many, many people who would love to be part of a memorial service for Sparky. My dad took me to my first baseball game at the original Tigers Stadium when I was about 7 years old. Now, I’m not a big baseball fan but I do enjoy the games in person. We were mere feet away from Sparky Anderson and I remember how nice the man was to every single fan, old and young, that called out to him or reached out for a handshake. They don’t come classier than Sparky Anderson. He was as genuine as they come and a true role model for young people to emulate. Despite the fact that I’m not a big sports fan, I am truly heartbroken by the news of Sparky‘s death. There will never be another man like him … he will be sorely missed :(

Yesterday, the first scenes of the next installment of the Spider-Man franchise were shot, starring none other than the new leading lady Emma Stone!
The scene was of her character, Gwen Stacy, attending a funeral. Poor Emma was getting doused with fake rain all afternoon!
She still looks great though! Can't wait to see her [...]

‘Glee’ Releases New Promo Videos For Season 2, Part 2
Ricky Martin was spotted making his way out of a rehearsal studio in Miami, FL yesterday where he was auditioning new dancers for his upcoming concert tour. As you can see in the photos below, Ricky was sporting a sassy new look complete with designer eye-wear and a stylish scarf to protect him from the harsh inclement weather of Miami. Ricky was also sporting a new hair’do that, to me, just screams hair’DON’T!
Look … the glasses and scarf I can forgive, I mean, it’s a look that the Hipsters have been pushing for the past few years. The tacky dye job, tho, is unforgivable. What the Hell was Ricky thinking? The cheetah hair’do never looks good on anyone … I can’t even believe the man is trying to rock blonde streaks in public! LOL! I hope this is just a phase cuz I don’t think I can take the man seriously if this is the image he is trying to portray. World. Of. No.

See?! It gets sooo much better that in time, you might find yourself telling off the person who once made you feel so bad about yourself in school! All in due time!
Minnie Driver is a stunning woman and an incredible actress, but even she at one point of her life was pushed around by someone. The actress was on Ellen DeGeneres' show yesterday and she shared her own story of overcoming bullying as a pre-teen. She explained:
"I remember this new girl arrived when I was like nine years old, and I was completely happy at my school, very confident, and, for whatever reason, she decided that she needed to take me down, and for the next five years, just every single day repeatedly, it was just abusive and frightening. It wasn't until I finally realized that I could fight back and I literally smacked her, it never happened again."
Well, we can't say we condone the violence part, but courage to stand up for yourself is still commendable
She then told Ellen that years later, she was able to confront the girl who tormeneted her in her youth at a party and what she learned from her was rather surprising. She reveals:
"She was there with her husband and her kids and I got the same kind of chilled fear in my stomach when I saw her… and after a couple of drinks I went over to her and I was like, 'Can I just ask you, you remember everything that went on, right…? The systematic and repeated bullying that you inflicted on me.' Her face went white and she looked like she was going to throw up or burst into tears, and I said, 'Why did you do it?' She said, 'It was my identity… I was frightened of who you were - creative and loud and sort of gregarious - and my identity became stopping that and shutting that down in you because it was shut down in me.' That minute, I realized that she was, in a way, as damaged by what she'd done as I had felt damaged myself. It was an interesting and good moment, but I don't think everybody has that opportunity to face their aggressor later on."
No, they surely don't. We think if they did, they would encounter the same kind of thing you did - an adult who regrets their childhood immaturities and decisions.
We should always try and see the good in people, no matter who they are. You never know who they might turn out to be!
Just keep telling yourself - it gets better!

Let The Lines Begin!
If you're starting to plan your Black Friday strategy, we'd recommend putting Target on your list of hot spots to hit. They've got some killer deals coming your way that day after Thanksgiving!

What an awful message you're sending to the youths!
Kodak, a supposedly family friendly company, has pulled its ads from airing during Teen Nick's popular series, DeGrassi: The Next Generation.
Apparently, the company has been receiving a slew of emails from the Florida Family Association for supporting a show that “targets teens with gay propaganda and other immoral behavior.”
For those of you who are not familiar with the show, this season there are not only gay teen characters, but a transgender one as well. We assume this is the kind of "immoral behavior" this group is referring to and we're ashamed to say that this kind ignorance led Kodak to pull their promotion of the show.
What an absolute shame. Here's a show, trying to reach out to a group of teens who've probably never felt like they've had a role model before, on a network that promotes itself as being kid-friendly, and Kodak now is saying that it's wrong to support that.
What's wrong is making anyone feel less worthy of respect and consideration because of their sexuality or race or creed or anything!
A major company publicly siding with homophobia. How sad.

Christina Aguilera Comes Home To Max Liron For Xmas
Yesterday was a gloriously warm, sunny and RAINFREE day here in LA and David and I made the most of it. Since this is the first year we are spending Xmas together (as opposed to with our families on opposite ends of the country), we decided to keep things really quiet for just the two of us. We started out the day with an Xmas Eve brunch of Aussie Cheese Fries from Outback Steakhouse … and the day just got better from there.
After we stuffed our faces with cheesy deliciousness at Outback, we went for a walk together to enjoy the beautiful weather. After we came home to relax for a bit, we made our way to La Boheme Cafe in West Hollywood, CA for a lovely Xmas Eve dinner together. Then we came home to watch a few Xmas specials on TV … naturally, A Charlie Brown Christmas was top on our list. We fell asleep watching White Christmas and, well, that was our night. Altho it sounds like any of our regular nights together, this one was really special … in fact, any night that David and I get to spend together is a special night. I hope your Xmas Eve was just as special for you!! Happy Holidays!!!

Gwen Stefani & Sons Enjoy A Day At The Park
When last we saw photos of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt they were enjoying a fun afternoon at a park in Budapest, Hungary with a select few of their children. Today we get to see photos of the couple back to work on the set of the film Angelina is directing. While she was bizzy surveying things as director, Brad was bizzy taking a few photos … behold:
I suppose it’s to be expected that in a film about the Bosnian war, there is bound to be a bloody baby or two … but still … this fake dead baby gives me the hella creeps. I will say that it is very heartening to see Brangelina looking so lovey-dovey on set, tho. I could stand to see a lot more love on set and a lot less fake dead babies. Yikes.

David Arquette Dishes On His Split From Courteney Cox
Back in August we got our first look at the cast of the newest Housewives in the Bravo TV stable of programming — The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Today we get to see photos from the premiere event for the show which was held, naturally, in Beverly Hills, CA last night. In addition to the new Housewives themselves, a plethora of A-List celebs also strutted their stuff down the red carpet at the event — A-Listers like La Toya Jackson, Nicky & Paris Hilton … AND her wonky eye:
The Hilton sisters were there to support their aunts who are featured castmembers of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills … Paris‘s wonky eye was dragged there against its will … poor thing. I have no idea why La Toya Jackson was there … perhaps she saw the red carpet and camera flashbulbs and decided to swing by. To be honest, as much as I enjoy watching the different versions of The Real Housewives, I kinda feel like things are getting out of hand. If anything could kill the successful franchise, it would be the vapid ostentatious of the ladies of Beverly Hills. The Real Housewives of DC really tried my patience last season … it was very boring to watch. I’ll give the Beverly Hills ladies a chance but if they end up sucking, I’ll be out. Are any of y’all planning to watch this newest version of The Real Housewives?
